A complete family of gear-boxes for 5-30 grams slow flyers

With its M0.3 gear family, DIDEL has defined a complete and coherent set of one and two-stage gear-boxes, that will match any need in the slow flyers community: small and large motors, small ratios for small propellers, high ratios for large efficient propellers. A progression of 25 to 33% exists between two consecutive ratios. This means that any propeller can be matched with a gearbox to be very close from the maximum of efficiency.

Three possibilities exist for connecting your propellers: 1mm axis, 2mm axis with a supplied adapter to be glued on the 1mm axis, and of-course the DIDEL propeller connectors PC1 (1mm blade rod) and PC2 (1.4mm blade rod).
Gearbox and motor assembly can be conveniently fixed to the plane structure by two 1.4mm carbon fiber, without any glue.

Gearbox weight is between 0.5 and 0.75 grams, depending on the diameter and gears.

Propeller connectors

The "connectors" proposed by Didel press-fit directly on the last gear. Thusts of more than 20g are easily absorbed if there are no vibrations. Home-made balsa propellers are easy to do (see www.didel.com/slow/propellers/BalsaProp.doc) and several people have made compatible carbon foil props.
